Sarah is a documentary photographer based in the Washington, D.C. area.
She worked in clinics, hospitals, schools and at The George Washington University as a speech-language pathologist and graduate clinical educator before shifting focus to documentary photography. Sarah’s clinical background and passion for social and humanitarian issues contributed to her current focus on documentary work centering on health, education, community, and culture.
She is currently engaged in a long-term project on maternal health that explores access, choice, and health equity in the context of midwife- and doula-supported pregnancy and childbirth. Sarah also collaborates with nonprofit organizations on mission-driven visual storytelling efforts.
