Sarah Jane Holden is a documentary photographer based in the Washington, D.C. area. She worked in clinics, hospitals, schools and at The George Washington University as a speech-language pathologist and graduate clinical educator before shifting focus to documentary photography. Her work focuses on health, education, and community.
Sarah is currently engaged in a long-term project on maternal health that explores access, choice, and health equity. She also collaborates with nonprofit organizations on mission-driven visual storytelling efforts.
Sarah is a contributor to Up.St.Art magazine and recently taught at Artfarm Studio’s Fearless Photography Camp, an experience designed to encourage confidence and individuality in teen girls through photography.
Originally from small town Missouri, Sarah now lives in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband and two children.
